This Gundam-themed itasha build brings two iconic universes together — the MSN-06S Sinanju from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn and the mysterious Arcueid Brunestud from Tsukihime — on a single vehicle that stops traffic everywhere it goes.

What is Itasha?

Itasha (痛車, literally "painful car") is a Japanese car culture phenomenon where vehicles are decorated with anime, manga, or video game characters. What started as an underground subculture in Akihabara has exploded into a global movement. At EMWRAPS, itasha is one of our most popular services — and one of our most creative.

Unlike a standard color change wrap, itasha is a full artistic endeavor. Every build requires custom illustration, character placement that follows the vehicle's body lines, and print production that captures every detail at full resolution. It's part automotive wrap, part commissioned artwork.

The Build: Sinanju × Arcueid

This build combines two very different anime properties into a cohesive design that works from every angle:

The hood features the Sinanju's iconic Neo Zeon crest — the emblem of the MSN-06S Sinanju from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. The crest's angular, mechanical design translates perfectly to the flat surface of the hood, creating an aggressive focal point that draws the eye immediately.

Character Placement: Art Meets Body Lines

The side panels showcase Arcueid Brunestud in a flowing illustrated design that follows the natural curves of the vehicle. This is where itasha design gets challenging — the artwork has to look intentional on a 3D surface with door gaps, handles, and wheel arches breaking up the canvas.

Our design process accounts for every panel break and body line. The character's pose, hair flow, and clothing were specifically composed to work with the vehicle's proportions — not just slapped onto a flat template and stretched. This level of custom fitting is what separates professional itasha from DIY attempts.

Stepping back to see the full side profile reveals how all the design elements work together. The Sinanju's mechanical aesthetic on the hood flows into the character illustration on the doors and rear quarter, creating a visual story that unfolds as you walk around the car.

The rear of the build carries the theme through to the back of the vehicle. Clean edges, wrapped bumper sections, and integrated design elements ensure the itasha looks intentional from every angle — not just the sides.

Design — Our team creates custom illustrations fitted to your specific vehicle's body lines, panel breaks, and curves. Unlimited revisions until you're 100% satisfied

Color proofing — We print a test section to verify colors, resolution, and scale before committing to the full production run

Print — High-resolution eco-solvent or latex printing on premium cast vinyl, laminated for UV protection and scratch resistance

Install — Show-quality installation with seamless panel transitions, wrapped edges, and precision alignment
