Color PPF vs. Vinyl Wrap vs. Repaint

There are three ways to change a vehicle's color, and they are not interchangeable. A full respray permanently alters the car — it can look spectacular, but it erases the factory finish, is difficult to reverse, and a color-changed repaint is one of the first things a future buyer's inspection flags. A vinyl color-change wrap (from $3,500 at EMWRAPS) is fully reversible and offers a huge color palette, but the film is thin, decorative, and offers minimal rock-chip protection over a 5–7 year life.

Color PPF is the third path: a 7.5+ mil paint protection film with the color built into the film itself. You get the color change and the armor in a single layer — self-healing against light scratches, resistant to rock chips and road debris, hydrophobic, and warrantied for 7–10 years. When it eventually comes off, the untouched factory paint underneath is exactly as it was. Gloss, Satin & Matte Color PPF — How Finish Affects Price

Within our published range (full body $6,800–$10,000+), the finish you choose is the biggest price lever after vehicle size. Gloss black — STEK DYNOblack is the most requested film in this category — sits at the value end of the range. Satin and matte color films typically land mid-range: the material costs more and the installation is less forgiving, because a matte surface shows any handling flaw and cannot be polished afterward. Metallic, color-shift, and custom-ordered colors trend toward the top of the range, both for material cost and because low-volume colors are ordered per-project.

Partial color PPF is also an option — hoods, roofs, and accent panels are common — and prices proportionally. Every quote is per-vehicle: a Model 3 and an Escalade in the same film are very different jobs. Bring the car (or the spec sheet) and we quote it exactly.
